Steve Gerber: We're sorry to report that Steve Gerber, one of comics' finest writers, passed away February 10. Best known as the creator of Howard the Duck, he was also the creator of the recently revived Omega the Unknown, currently written by Jonathan Lethem. Gerber's stories stood out from the pages and pages of junk depicting garishly-costumed people hitting eachother. Though he mostly wrote within genre conventions, Gerber's stories were occasionally satirical and frequently adult, thematically.
