Alexander McCall Smith (signed): Creator of the Isabel Dalhousie, 44 Scotland Street and Portuguese Irregular Verbs series, he is best known as the author of the No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency novels, which have recently been adapted by HBO.

Robert Sawyer (signed): Hugo and Nebula Award winning author of The Terminal Experiment and Flash Forward among many others. Flash Forward serves as the basis for an ABC TV series this fall.

James Rollins (signed): Author of the "Sigma Force" series of thrillers, he also writes epic fantasy under the name "James Clemens".

Jimmy Gownley (signed): Cartoonist, author of the "Shades of Gray" series and the kids' comic Amelia Rules!.

James Morrow (signed): Author of the "Godhead" trilogy and one of Scott's personal favorites, City of Truth.

Richard Price (signed): Screenwriter (Sea of Love, The Color of Money, The Wire and many others) and author of eight novels including The Wanderers and the recent Lush Life.

Peter Lerangis (signed): Prolific author of books for young adults both under his own name and various pseudonyms, his latest book is the third in the bestselling "39 Clues" series, The Sword Thief.

Alan Brennert (signed): Best known as a screenwriter and author of SF novels and short stories, he's turned his eye to historical fiction with Moloka'i and the new Honolulu.

WonderCon 2009: WonderCon 2009 was the weekend of February 27-29 in San Francisco, and Scott was there pushing around boxes filled with comics and books for people to sign. People were universally friendly at this convention, and everyone we met was very generous with their time and their signing hands. Particularly notable were Howard Chaykin, with whom Scott had a great conversation about the current state of television (and who introduced him to Mark Hamill); Mick Gray, whose daughter gifted us one of the cartoons she spent the hours happily drawing (check out Mick & Holly's Stuff); legendary writer Roy Thomas, who was happy to spend nearly an hour just yakking about nearly any topic; Wendy and Richard Pini, who were excited about the "Elfquest" movie that actually looks like it will be made; and dozens of other people including Mike Mignola, Matt Wagner, Gary Gianni, Mark Schultz, David Peterson, Sergio Aragones and Mark Evanier. Keep checking back - we've only put up about 30% of what was acquired or signed at the convention.

Peter Robinson (signed): Creator of the Inspector Banks series, the latest of which is All the Colors of Darkness.

Kim Harrison (signed): Creator of the Rachel Morgan series, she also writes fantasy under the pseudonym "Dawn Cook".

Daniyal Mueenuddin (signed): His excellent first book is a collection of linked stories entitled In Other Rooms, Other Wonders.

Eric Shanower (signed): Cartoonist, Oz authority and author of five Oz graphic novels, he is currently adapting The Wonderful Wizard of Oz with illustrator Skottie Young.
